Three agencies to conduct Belarus president election exit polls

MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Two social research agencies will conduct the president election exit polls in Belarus. These are the Sociology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Youth Laboratory of Social Studies of the Belarusian Committee of Youth Organizations, and the Institute for Comparative Social Studies Eurasian Barometer, BelTA has learned.

The Sociology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the only scientific institution in Belarus to conduct a comprehensive and systematic study of the Belarusian society. Twice a year specialists of the institute carry out the monitoring of the socio-political situation in the country identifying the most problematic issues in the development of the society, the major trends in the political and socio-economic areas.

The Youth Laboratory of Social Studies cooperates closely with the Center for Social and Political Studies of the Belarusian State University, and the Sociology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. It conducts sociological research among the youth, and prepares analytical materials on the problem it researches.

The Institute for Comparative Social Studies Eurasian Barometer is an international non-for-profit NGO headquartered in Vienna, Austria. The Eurasian Barometer represents a network of research organizations and individual researchers in more than 25 countries. The institute monitors the public opinion on political, social and economic transformations in the countries of the post-communist Europe and the post-Soviet Eurasia. The company’s geographic coverage comprises countries of Eastern Europe (Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria), the Balkans (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia), and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan).

The polls will be open from 8h00 to 20h00 on 11 October.
