MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Precinct election commissions will start updating the electoral registers after 26 August, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina said in a video address, BelTA has learned.
Lidia Yermoshina noted that the deadline for nominating representatives to precinct election commissioners was 23 August. “All precinct election commissions will be formed by 27 August. After 26 August, the commissions will start updating the electoral registers, which is a very serious work. The initial data will be provided to them by local executive and administrative bodies,” Lidia Yermoshina explained.
The precinct election commissions will verify and prepare reliable voters' lists. All Belarusian citizens included in these lists will be invited to vote in the presidential election on 11 October.
