Precinct commissions in Russia ready for Belarus president election

MOSCOW, 26 August (BelTA) – Precinct election commissions have been set up for the Belarus president election at all the four polling stations in Russia, the press service of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia told BelTA.

According to the source, the precinct election commissions were set up in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, and Rostov-on-Don in accordance with articles 34, 35, and 37 of the Electoral Code of Belarus.

The commission in Moscow comprises 16 people, the one in Saint Petersburg four people, the one in Kaliningrad five people, and the one in Rostov-on-Don six people. All the members of the commissions have been nominated by groups of citizens through the application submission process.

The source underlined that the polling stations in Russia will be open to the Belarus citizens, who permanently live in Russia or temporarily stay in Russia. The polling stations will be opened during the early voting period on 6-10 October (at 10:00-14:00 and 16:00-19:00) and the main voting day — 11 October (at 8:00-20:00). Voters will need personal identification and citizenship documents.
