MFA: International observers will contribute towards objective opinion on Belarus' election

MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) - The work of the international observers will contribute towards the objective opinion on the election in Belarus, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met with Sergei Lebedev, Chairman of the Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary, head of the CIS observation mission at the Belarus president elections, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed the course of the election campaign in Belarus and the issues related to the organization of international observation at the president election. "Belarus confirmed its readiness to provide the CIS observation mission with the necessary assistance for the fulfillment of its mandate, and expressed confidence that the work of the international observers will help ensure the transparency of the electoral process and develop an objective opinion on the election," the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

The parties also discussed the process of preparations for the session of the CIS supreme bodies due in October 2015, and other issues of multilateral cooperation within the CIS.
