Lukashenko suggests elaborating international election standards

MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko suggests elaborating international election standards. The Belarusian leader made the statement as he talked to the media at polling station No.1 on 11 October, BelTA informs.

The head of state stressed: “If we want to comply with some standards, let us work them out either within the UN as we suggested together with Russia, or within the OSCE as we suggested on behalf of the CIS and the EEU. If we adopt and sign such standards, we will stay committed to them.”

Alexander Lukashenko also said: “If our foreign guests, observers or simply dreamers tell something smart and we see it as our prospect, we will immediately take it into consideration. There have already been enough such suggestions both at the parliamentary and presidential elections. So if we talk about standards, there is no such thing yet.”
