Presidential election 2015 in Belarus

MINSK, 14 July (BelTA) - The Council of Permanent Plenipotentiaries of the states parties to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) unanimously supported the candidature of Chairman of the Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev to the post of the head of the CIS observation mission for the election of the President of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

In his turn, the Chairman of the Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev said that the sent invitations to the CIS countries to participate in the CIS observation mission at the presidential elections in Belarus. "I hope that Ukraine which has not participated in our observation missions lately will join us this time," he added.

Sergei Lebedev wished everyone constructive work in the forthcoming presidential elections in Belarus and assured that the CIS mission will maintain an objective and unbiased approach to the election monitoring.
