Korotkevich promises stable business legislation if elected president

MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) – Candidate for the post of the President of Belarus Tatiana Korotkevich has promised not to worsen business environment if elected president. She made the statement during a meeting in the center of Minsk on 9 October, BelTA has learned.

“Stable legislation and a moratorium on the changes that will worsen the business environment; development of regions,” she said enumerating the items on her manifesto.

Tatiana Korotkevich also welcomed the fact that Belarusian writer Svetlana Alexievich was given the 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature and named her the person of the world.

Besides, the presidential candidate said that her team will hand over a white-red-white flag to the Museum of Modern Belarusian Statehood. Tatiana Korotkevich said that if elected president, she will not hurry to change the official national symbols. The candidate also noted that she has held some 50 meetings in different cities and towns of Belarus as part of the electoral campaign.

Tatiana Korotkevich promised that she will not divide Belarusian people into the categories of pro-government and anti-government, “left” and “right”.

The meeting was held at the Minsk Town Hall. It was attended mainly by journalists. Some 20 representatives of Belarusian, Swedish, Lithuanian mass media came to ask Tatiana Korotkevich questions.
