Korotkevich hopes to draw labor emigrants back to Belarus

MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Candidate for the post of the President of Belarus Tatiana Korotkevich hopes to draw Belarusians who left the country for work back home. She made the statement during the televised debates aired by the Belarus 1 TV Channel on 3 October, BelTA has learned.

Tatiana Korotkevich assured the TV audience that she has a special approach to building her team that will work for the good of the country. She stressed that this will be the first thing she will do if elected the President of Belarus. In her words, she is ready to make state government “open, transparent, and easy for people to understand.” “Today, I wish to open the door to all professionals who want to work in the state government system,” Tatiana Korotkevich noted. She also promised to leave all the government officials who are professionals in their fields.

“I would like to attract people who have already achieved success in other fields, in the private sector of the economy, and create conditions to draw back those Belarusians who left the country for work,” the candidate said without mentioning the resources we was going to use.

At the same time, Tatiana Korotkevich said that the first economic reforms will be aimed at “making the Belarusian business regulations more stable.” “We should ensure that all the economic entities can bring profit operating in compliance with the Belarusian law. We are convinced that these measures will help boost our economy. Experts predict a growth of some 2-7% during the first year. After that, we should start reforming the industry,” the candidate noted.
