Jacques Faure promises not to interfere with electoral process

MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – The work of the election observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) does not imply interference with the electoral process in Belarus, head of the OSCE/ODIHR mission Jacques Faure told journalists on 26 August, BelTA has learned.

“Our role is to monitor the presidential election in Belarus,” Jacques Faure said. He promised that the work of the OSCE/ODIHR mission will be based on the principles of professionalism, impartiality, transparency, and objectiveness.

He also noted that the OSCE/ODIHR observers have plans to meet with representatives of Belarusian government agencies of different levels, civil society, and mass media.
