CIS, OSCE/ODIHR missions to exchange interim reports on presidential election in Belarus

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – The CIS and OSCE/ODIHR observation missions will exchange interim statements on the presidential election campaign in Belarus. The relevant agreement was reached at the meeting of the heads of the two missions, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

Head of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission Jacques Faure and his deputy paid a visit to the CIS observers’ headquarters. “The parties shared information on the composition and operational principles of the missions, monitoring methods and the development of interim and final reports as well as their opinions on the ongoing election campaign in Belarus,” the press service said.

The parties agreed to exchange interim statements and the lists of long-term observers.

According to the recent data, the Central Election Commission of Belarus accredited 385 international observers. The majority of them, 264, are observers from the CIS member states (the CIS Executive Committee and the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly).
