MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) - The CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly has been invited to participate in the international monitoring of the president election in Belarus on 11 October, BelTA informs with reference to the official website of the CIS IPA.
The Parliamentary Assembly will send a group of observers to the Republic of Belarus. It will consist of MPs of the states-members of the CIS IPA, and also officials of the Council Secretariat and experts of the International Institute for Monitoring Democratic and Parliamentary Process and Suffrage Protection in the CIS," the statement said.
It is planned that the observers will be deployed not only in Minsk but also in the regions, and also at foreign polling stations.
The Assembly has traditionally taken part in monitoring both the president and parliamentary elections in Belarus since the election to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly on 14 October 2000. A group of observers from the CIS IPA also observed the previous president elections on 19 December 2010.
