CIS IPA observers to make part of CIS mission at Belarus’ presidential election

MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) – CIS IPA group of observers will make part of the CIS observation mission at the presidential election in Belarus, BelTA learnt from the official website of the CIS IPA.

According to the CIS IPA website, Secretary General – Director of the Secretariat of the Council of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Alexei Sergeyev has received an invitation from Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev to deploy a CIS IPA group of observers as part of the CIS observation mission for close cooperation in monitoring the presidential election in Belarus.

The CIS IPA group of observers traditionally makes part of the CIS observation mission and takes part in all the events organized by the CIS Executive Committee, including the final press conference. The coordinator of the CIS IPA observers takes part in the final statement of the CIS mission on behalf of his/her group.

According to Lidia Yermoshina, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CIS) of Belarus, the CIS long-term observation mission led by Sergei Lebedev will be deployed in Belarus before 12 August.

The presidential election in Belarus has been scheduled for 11 October 2015.
