CEC final session on 2015 presidential election scheduled for 16 October

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus is expected to hold its final session on the 2015 presidential election on 16 October, CEC Chairwoman Lidia Yermoshina told media on 12 October, BelTA has learned.

According to Lidia Yermoshina, “the country should not be kept in uncertainty for long. We are going to summarize the results of the voting within the next five days. We plan to hold the final session on Friday, 16 October.”

Lidia Yermoshina also noted that the CEC has not yet received the information about the Belarusian citizens who voted abroad.

Lidia Yermoshina stated that the Central Election Commission has not yet received the complaints regarding the results of the election. "But traditionally they are never filed in the morning after the election day does because the lost sides and their teams are gathering strength. So far some part of the complaints submitted to the CEC relate to yesterday's vote,” she said. In particular, these are the complaints about the quality of the electoral register from the citizens who did not find themselves on this register.
