MINSK, 5 January (BelTA) - Every delegate of the Belarusian People's Congress has a great responsibility to future generations, First Secretary of the BRSM Central Committee, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Dmitry Voronyuk told the media after the 7th Plenum of the BRSM Central Committee that elected delegates to the 6th Belarusian People's Congress, BelTA has learned.

“Today we have elected 140 active young people who will take part in the Belarusian People's Congress,” Dmitry Voronyuk said. “The president has repeatedly stressed that the people’s congress is a unique democratic forum that will make important decisions on the country’s development in economy, politics and other sectors. Young people should take the most active part in all these processes. This is why we considered candidatures very carefully. They are representatives of all regions and all sectors of life. These are school and university students, young working people, the people who have already pitched their ideas during discussions. We believe that all these ideas will be presented at the Belarusian People's Congress and that we will be able to discuss them, and that they will make part of the general concept of further development of our country.”

According to him young people do care about the future of their country. "Young people are interested how the capital and major cities and also the countryside will live, work and develop. They are concerned about housing, family, and job issues, working conditions in the workplace. The most important thing that unites us all is love for our country. Love is not in words but in deeds. Maximum dedication to work from each of us is the only way forward,” he said.

Dmitry Voronyuk added that he took part in the Belarusian People’s Congress in 2016. “There was an active discussion then. A number of important decisions were made. It is great that very soon I will have the opportunity to attend the Belarusian People's Congress for the second time,” he stressed. “It is clear that the Belarusian People's Congress is the pinnacle. The preparations for it, however, begin far in advance. Very active discussions were held across the country,  in every district and region. Today every participant of the Belarusian People's Congress has a huge responsibility for all the future decisions,” he added.

The 6th Belarusian People's Congress will take place in Minsk on 11-12 February 2021. The main provisions of Belarus' social and economic development program for 2021-2025, as well as the trends of the country's social and political development will be discussed by the participants of the Congress. The total number of the participants and invitees will be 2,700 people.
