MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on the large-scale sociological survey carried out in Belarus in the run-up to the 6th Belarusian People’s Congress as he addressed its delegates on 11 February, BelTA has learned.

“We continue implementing social programs and fulfilling our obligations as usual. Perhaps, not perfectly, but this is what the recently conducted large-scale sociological survey has demonstrated,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

He stressed that he keeps tabs on the situation in the country. “I visit various parts of Belarus and see with my own eyes what is important for people,” he added. The president noted that the sociological survey collected many negative comments and pointed out that such criticism is more important to him than positive feedback.

“Some say that I have some four-five people around me who shape my opinion. Forget it. I am not that kind of person. Sometimes it does me no good. Maybe I should simply accept others’ suggestions from time to time, but I question everything. This is my principle,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed and recommended everyone adopting this approach as well.
