Kobyakov nominated to attend 5th Belarusian People's Congress

MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov was nominated to attend the 5th Belarusian People's Congress from Moskovsky District of Minsk, BelTA has learned.

“This is really a very important event for me personally as a citizen of Belarus and as a government official. Belarusian People's Congress is a kind of a popular assembly which will determine the country’s future for immediate, medium and term,” Andrei Kobyakov told reporters.

Kobyakov nominated to attend 5th Belarusian People's CongressThe Belarusian head of government said that he will participate in the Belarusian People’s Congress for the fifth time. “I had an honor to be a delegate at the previous four congresses. Now I have been nominated for the fifth time. I am excited, in spite of the fact that this is already the fifth meeting for me. Now as the head of government I will report back to people for what the government has done during the relevant time period,” he said.

Kobyakov nominated to attend 5th Belarusian People's CongressAndrei Kobyakov stressed that the Belarusian People's Congress will bring together the most active citizens of the country. All strata, interested groups will be represented at the event. “It is very important to participate and hear a consolidated position, to argue, discuss and develop the final course of the country's development for the next five years,” the Prime Minister noted.

Kobyakov nominated to attend 5th Belarusian People's CongressTogether with Andrei Kobyakov, 61 people were nominated delegates for the 5th Belarusian People's Congress from Moskovsky District of Minsk. Among them are Finance Minister Vladimir Amarin, Interior Minister Igor Shunevich, Rector of the Belarusian State University Sergei Ablameiko, chairman of the permanent commission on education, science, culture and social development of the Council of the Republic Nikolai Kazarovets and others.

Kobyakov nominated to attend 5th Belarusian People's CongressThe 5th Belarusian People's Congress will be held in Minsk on 22-23 June to discuss the social and economic development program of the Republic of Belarus for 2011-2015 and the major guidelines of the country's social and economic development program for 2016-2020. It is expected that the event will be attended by 2,500 people.
