MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – Chairwoman of the Standing Commission on Health, Physical Education, Family and Youth Policy of the House of Representatives Lyudmila Makarina-Kibak spoke about the agenda of the Belarusian People’s Congress in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“The Belarusian People’s Congress is coming soon. The preparations are in full swing. We took part in relevant discussions and received a lot of proposals,” Lyudmila Makarina-Kibak said. According to her, the most popular topics include living standards and family values. “Thanks to the family capital program and the government’s assistance, the number of large families is on the rise. Now we have decided to encourage people to have the first and second children,” she added.

The upcoming Belarusian People’s Congress will have a special importance, Lyudmila Makarina-Kibak stressed. “Everyone wants to be heard. People send their proposals. If these proposals are laid down in resolutions, people will understand that the living standards are improving thanks to them. We always encourage people to contribute their ideas. They can submit their proposals in social networks or by mail. To my mind, this will help bring people together,” she believes.
