Economy modernization options on agenda of Belarusian People’s Congress

MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian People’s Congress will help analyze the country’s development strategy and options of economy modernization, Oleg Levshunov, member of the permanent commission on labor and social security at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, told BelTA.

According to the MP, the main focus of the Belarusian People’s Congress will be on the program of the country’s social and economic development for the next five years. Opinions on various aspects of this strategic document and other issues will be voiced and shared by corporate executives, average citizens, businessmen, representatives of security agencies, MPs and students. “The program should be feasible; its implementation should benefit the country. First of all, it is developed for people to ensure the sustainable growth of their wellbeing, dynamic development of our young state, strengthening of Belarus’ positions on the international arena. I suppose that the people’s congress will analyze the country’s development strategy and options to modernize the economy taking into account new global trends,” noted Oleg Levshunov.

“Events of the kind inspire our society to engage in vigorous activity and search for solutions to the problems the country is facing,” the MP said.

Oleg Levshunov said that he, just like other MPs, had been nominated to attend the forthcoming Belarusian People’s Congress. “It may safely be said that this event would provide different public opinions. The country’s development pace and ways will directly depend on the decisions to be taken. It will be a straight business talk on the most important matters,” Oleg Levshunov said.

The fifth Belarusian People’s Congress will take place in Minsk on 22-23 June. It is expected that attending the event will be 2,500 people.
