Belarus president not afraid of different opinions, open to discussion

MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) – I am not afraid of different opinions and open to discussion with everybody, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the 6th Belarusian People’s Congress on 12 February, BelTA informs.

“Every person has an opinion. I swear on my children’s lives! I am not afraid of different opinions. I am open to discussion with everybody,” the head of state said. “There is no development without completion and ideas. We need them.”

“One thing should be clear: you came here to work, you work in business, in the production sector – there will be certain regulations. If you come to politics – my dear, it’s crowded,” the Belarusian leader said. “There is one president, and thousands of people, who are ready to sit in this chair, are trying to oust him. They do not understand that the president’s chair is not a throne, the president in Belarus is not a king. And it is not kingship when I sit and rule, and life is a bed of roses. Some presidents are doing exactly that. But in Belarus you will be president for one year only if try to reign,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

“Therefore, competition in business is one thing, competition in politics is different. Laws and rules are different. Therefore, you are welcome, but life will not be easy for you in politics,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.”
