26th Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Minsk

MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) – Thanks to the 26th OSCE PA Annual Session, many countries took a different look at Belarus, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus’ National Assembly Boleslav Pirshtuk told the media on 6 July, BelTA has learned.

“We are currently at a very important, historic moment: we are hosting such a large-scale event for the first time in the modern history of the Republic of Belarus. We talked with our guests yesterday and today, and I should say that many of them, the overwhelming majority, have taken a completely different look at Belarus. They saw a European country with a well-developed infrastructure and all corresponding features,” Boleslav Pirshtuk noted.

He believes that Belarus will soon have new friends in the OSCE region, which will be one of the main results of the OSCE PA session. “We seem to be gaining more and more supporters, economically robust countries of Europe,” Boleslav Pirshtuk added.

The Belarusian MP also pointed out that at the current OSCE PA session, Belarus puts an emphasis, among other things, on the development of investment and innovative cooperation. Meetings with foreign MPs involved in business will be held for this purpose on the sidelines of the forum.

Minsk is hosting the 26th OSCE PA Annual Session from 5 to 9 July.
