Radio Belarus to cover 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 in nine languages

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Broadcasts about the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 will be transmitted by Radio Belarus in nine languages, BelTA learned from Naum Galperovich, Editor-in-Chief of Radio Belarus.

Radio Belarus International is about to launch a number of programs to raise the awareness about the forthcoming games not only in Belarus but abroad, too. Organizers, guests, and participants of the games will appear on the air of Radio Belarus International in the run-up to the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019. Radio Belarus International broadcasts in nine languages and all of them will cover the forthcoming sport forum, noted Naum Galperovich.

The project also includes a selfie contest. Contestants are invited to take their selfies, post them in popular social networks and send them to selfie@minsk2019.by or to Radio Belarus International’s official website. The photos are supposed to focus on the contestant’s favorite sport or sport facility. Hashtag #MINSK2019 must be added in any language the author speaks.

Anatoly Kotov, deputy director of the agency in charge of organizing the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019, noted: “My experience indicates that in the modern society social networks represent the fastest and most convenient way to tell young people and older people about the forthcoming event. This is why we’ve agreed to participate in this promo action right away. It is designed to attract the attention of as many sport fans in Belarus and abroad as possible to the sport forum.”

The selfie contest is scheduled to run from 1 April through 28 April 2018. The best selfies will be published in the dedicated section of the Radio Belarus website. Intermediate results will be summed up on the air of Radio Belarus International.

Winners and laureates will be named by a professional panel of judges, which includes representatives of Radio Belarus International, the Directorate of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Information Ministry. Winners will get diplomas from the Belarusian State Television and Radio Company and sets of tickets for 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 events in addition to parade uniforms of the national team.
