MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) - The participants of the 2nd European Games continue to fly into the Belarusian capital. Planes with about 2,000 guests from France, Serbia, the UK, Switzerland, Slovakia, Moldova, Sweden, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Belgium and other countries landed in Minsk National Airport on 19 June, BelTA learned from the Minsk regional customs office.

Among those who have flown in are national teams in rifle and pistol, archery, track cycling, judo, sambo, table tennis, rhythmic gymnastics, and also medical personnel, coaching staffs, judges, representatives of foreign mass media and national sport federations.

“Flights arrive every 10-15 minutes, with one plane carrying up to six teams,” the customs office said.

The number of staff at the airport has been increased for the period of the European Games. All customs operations take three minutes at the most.

Minsk 2019 is the second European Games and will feature approximately 4,000 of the continent’s best athletes from 50 nations competing in 200 medal events across 15 sports.
