Opinion: Belarusian wrestlers show good results this season

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – Belarusian wrestlers are showing good results this season, Chairman of the Belarusian Wrestling Federation Kamandar Madzhidov told BelTA.

Kamandar Madzhidov said Belarusian wrestlers won four medals (one silver and three bronzes) at the UWW European Wrestling Championships in Bucharest (Romania), which is a good result. At the European Junior Wrestling Championships, Belarusian athletes also did not let the team down, taking nine medals (two golds, two silvers, and five bronzes).

“This season, Belarusian wrestlers have demonstrated good results. The 2nd European Games are ahead of us. The athletes are training in the national Olympic training center Staiki, the women’s team in Logoisk. The best athletes from the national team will represent Belarus at the games. Training for the games is going as planned,” Kamandar Madzhidov said.

The 2nd European Games in Minsk include three wrestling events which will take place on 25-30 June. A total of 288 athletes will compete in 18 medal events in the Palace of Sports.

Tickets for the European Games are available at www.minsk2019.ticketpro.by, in the box offices of the official ticket operator Ticketpro and in more than 300 sales points in all the oblast centers and big regional centers. Tickets can be bought through a noncash transaction. For this it is necessary to fill in an application, providing a phone number and an e-mail address and submit it to minsk2019@ticketpro.by or by fax 8-017-392-67-70.
