MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – New-generation electric buses will enter passenger service in the Belarusian capital ahead of the 2nd European Games, Denis Chimbur, deputy director of the subsidiary of trolleybus fleet No.2 of Minsktrans company, said in an interview to the Belarus 1 TV Channel, BelTA has learned.
“Minsktrans has received a total of 38 electric buses so far. Today we are looking forward to a new model of electrobus, E321, which we expect to receive soon. This is a one-section two-axial electric vehicle of a new design and new generation. It has a new video information system which will be used as an audio and video guide during the 2nd European Games,” Denis Chimbur said.
Electrobuses will enter service one month ahead of the 2nd European Games. A total of 80 electric buses, including 60 of the next generation will serve Minsk routes.
The electric bus operates on electricity, which comes from onboard super condensers, not overhead wiring. Electricity saving makes up 14%. The electrobus is wheelchair accessible and equipped with fixation and driver awareness systems. The floor lowering system is activated when the bus approaches the bus stop. The electrobus is fitted with sockets and USB-connectors to charge gadgets.
