MTS named national partner of European Games MINSK 2019

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – MobileTeleSystems (MTS) has been named national partner of the 2nd European Games MINSK 2019. The corresponding agreement was signed between the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) and MobileTeleSystems Company at BelTA's press center on 26 June.

MTS will contribute to the provision of innovative solutions and development of technical infrastructure for the 2nd European Games. “MTS is a long-standing partner of the National Olympic Committee. It took part in the organization of a big number of social and sports events. We are happy to see that you continue supporting sport in Belarus,” MEGOC CEO George Katulin said.

In his words, the 2nd European Games will need a high-quality telecommunications infrastructure. “The provision of the games with IT-technology means, among other things, the availability of a mobile press center at each of its venues, the distribution of information on the results of the competitions among specialists and fans. Plans are in place to develop a program of special mobile applications. This will be impossible without the participation of MTS, one of our biggest partners шn the mobile communications market,” George Katulin added.

According to MTS General Director Vladimir Karpovich, MobileTeleSystems attaches great attention to corporate social responsibility and sport development. “The 2nd European Games is a landmark event for Belarus, which requires innovative solutions. Being a provider of innovative services, we make our contribution to ensuring that the new technology platforms will help fulfill the tasks set before the 2nd European Games MINSK 2019 Organizing Committee. Another important point is the improvement of the communications infrastructure and services related to the venues of the competitions. Our project covers all sports and training grounds, the location of athletes, guests, and transport corridors. I would like to note that the taken measures will continue working for the interests of our citizens and the development of our country's attractiveness,” he said.

The 2nd European Games will take place at 12 sports venues in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 15 sports. Competitions in ten sports will be qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
