Minsk to host test 3x3 basketball tournament ahead of 2019 European Games

MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) - A test tournament “Palova. Snowball 3x3” will be held in the Stolitsa shopping mall in Minsk on 27-28 January, the press service of the Belarusian Basketball Federation told BelTA recalling that 3X3 basketball is part of the 2019 Second European Games 2019.

Belarus will field two teams comprising the players who are potential candidates to the national team which will represent the country at the European Games. Dmitry Koltunov’s players will face the strongest teams from Russia, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine.

“Minsk will host nine foreign teams of the high professional level. All in all, the tournament will feature 16 teams. Holding the games in the unusual atmosphere of a shopping mall will let us showcase all the beauty and dynamism of this sport,” the Belarusian Basketball Federation said.

The matches of the final stage will be broadcast relive by the Belarus 5 TV channel on 29 January.
