MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) – The Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) received ten Geely Atlas crossovers on 3 June to provide transport services during the 2nd European Games in Minsk, BelTA learned from MEGOC.

The cars were made by the Belarusian-Chinese car manufacturer BelGee.

“It is only logical to use Belarusian cars because it contributes to the image of the country. The cars are very comfortable. We have been using Geely for three months and have nothing to complain about,” MEGOC Deputy CEO Arkadzi Maleyeu said.

The cars will be assigned to the Games Taxi which will provide services to client groups in line with the agreement between the host city and the European Olympic Committees. The Games Taxi will work specifically on the routes between the sport venues and other facilities of the games.

All in all, over 300 Geely crossovers will be in operation during the European Games in Minsk.

“The European Games are the main event of the year. MEGOC has chosen our cars and we see this as an honor and a great responsibility for our rather young company. ‘Geely’ is the Chinese word for ‘Happiness’. I hope that trips in our cars will bring clients not only comfort but also happiness,” First Deputy Industry Minister, BelGee Acting Director General Gennady Svidersky said.

The Games Taxi service has developed the GamesTaxiBot mobile application which will provide information about the status and other details of an order. The application is available for mobile devices and desktop computers.
