Minsk, 14 June (BelTA) – Belarusian youth invited peers from over 20 countries to visit Minsk during the 2nd European Games, BelTA learned from BRSM Central Committee Secretary Yulia Zinkevich.

On 4-9 June, Russia’s Stavropol hosted the 3rd BRICS and SCO Student Spring International Festival which brought together some 2,500 young people from 23 countries. The Belarusian delegation included active members of the BRSM Youth Union, winners of Belarusian and international projects.

“The Belarusian delegation was one of the largest ones. We had an opportunity to tell other participants about BRSM and its activities, exchange experience in training youth leaders, and perform on the biggest stages of the festival. The event was perfect to communicate with peers from other countries and we invited them to the 2nd European Games in Minsk," Yulia Zinkevich said.

According to her, the festival enabled members of the BRSM Youth Union to get familiar with volunteer work in the BRICS and SCO member states. “We have studied informal education, new methods to develop social competence. In turn, the Belarusian delegation presented the Belarus Remembers patriotic project,” Yulia Zinkevich noted.

She pointed out that the BRICS and SCO Student Spring International Festival enables young people to demonstrate their talents. For example, Aleksandra Romanovskaya from the Mogilev music college won the Univervision contest for performing a song in the Belarusian language and students from Vitebsk Maria Solovyova and Vladislav Yegorov won the Art Hall international art project within the framework of the festival.

One of the most important events of the festival was the final of the 28th international beauty and talent pageant The Queen of Studentship 2019 organized by the Russian Union of Youth, the BRSM Youth Union, and the Stavropol Krai government. A total of 16 participants from 12 countries took part in the pageant. Belarus was represented by Yelizaveta Abramkina, Yevgeniya Kudlach, and Tatyana Shcherbach who became a runner-up of the pageant.
