Euronews zooms in on Minsk European Games in its Focus latest episode

MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – The TV channel Euronews offers a new video on the Minsk European Games 2019 in its Focus latest episode, BelTA has learned.

The five-minute video tells about the athletes’ preparations for the competitions and how the Belarusian capital is getting its infrastructure ready for the games. The video focuses on Minsk public transport and its fleet of electric buses, and also on the tech firm Synesis that has designed a special app for the European Games, a so-called one-stop shop for information.

In late March Euronews produced a video about the upcoming 2nd European Games as part of its program Metropolitans. It narrated about the history of the city, the Belarusian cuisine and the country’s preparations for the multi-sport forum. European Games ambassadors Darya Domracheva and Maria Vasilevich showed the journalists their favorite places in Minsk. Euronews also presented an image-building video about Belarus and the 2nd European Games earlier this year.

BelTA reported earlier that the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) and the TV channel Euronews signed an information cooperation agreement. In line with the agreement the European TV channel undertakes to broadcast videos dedicated to Belarus and the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019. Euronews is a European 24/7 news channel, which broadcasts in 12 languages in over 160 countries across the globe and reaches over 430 million people. The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 199 medal events in 15 sports. Competitions in eight sports will be qualifiers for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
