Conference to discuss athlete training due in Minsk on 4-5 April

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – An international science and practice conference “2nd European Games Minsk 2019: Psychological, pedagogical and medical, biological aspects of athlete training” will gather specialists from eight countries in the Belarusian State Physical Culture University on 4-5 April, BelTA has learned.

The plenary session will begin in the National Olympic Committee of Belarus at 11:00 on 4 April. First Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Maksim Ryzhenkov, Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk, Education Minister Igor Karpenko, Chairman of the Coordination Commission of the 2nd European Games Spyros Capralos, First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee Andrei Astashevich, and Rector of the Belarusian State Physical Culture University Sergei Repkin will take part in the plenary session.

During the session the Belarusian State Physical Culture University is expected to sign an agreement with the Belarusian National Technical University on setting up a research and education cluster Smart Technologies in Sport at premises of the Belarusian State Physical Culture University.

The conference will continue in the Belarusian State Physical Culture University where discussions will be arranged in several areas of interest. The experts are expected to discuss topical problems of selection of potential athletes, the system to train athletes and coaches, modern technologies for psychological support, medical, biological, and biomechanical aspects of sports.

A panel session will be held to discuss prospects of development of the industry of sport, tourism, and hospitality. The conference’s scientific program includes presentations and reports, roundtable sessions, workshops, and seminars.

The conference is expected to gather over 200 scientists, representatives of higher education institutions, sport schools and organizations, sport federations from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Poland, and the United Arab Emirates.

The conference is organized by the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry, the National Olympic Committee, the Belarusian State Physical Culture University, and the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC).
