Belarusian tour operators to work out new excursion routes ahead of European Games in 2019

MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – Belarusian tour operators are working on new excursion routes for guests of the Second European Games in 2019, Chairman of the Board of the Republican Union of Tourism Industry Filipp Guly said in an interview with the ONT TV channel on 28 December, BelTA has learned.

“The large-scale sporting event is not far off but we have enough time to work on our tourism opportunities and give international distributors a complete list of facilities and services, from kayaking and tractor driving to visits to the museum of miniature architectural models or a spa resort. We are working on tourist products taking into account national specificities, different tastes and budgets. We will offer the tours to the town of Smorgon which will be interesting, for example, for the buffs of the First World War history. They will feature monuments, interactivity and animation. Most importantly, the guests of our country should know that during the period of the games there will be a set of excursions at a low cost,” Filipp Guly noted.

In 2018 the Belarusian tour operators will be adjusting their offers to meet the interests of tourists from not only the CIS and the EU countries but also the guests from the Gulf states, India, the Islamic Republic of Iran. Info centers have been opened in New Delhi, Mumbai and Tehran. They disseminate the information through the Internet about Belarus. Full-fledged offices will be opened soon.

Particular attention is now being paid to the training of personnel and the transport infrastructure. The goal is to optimize the routes so that guests and participants of the European Games could reach any sport facility in under 30 minutes.
