Belarus, Lithuania to ease customs operations during Second European Games in Minsk

MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) - Belarus and Lithuania will draw up the measures to ease customs operations at the border crossing points at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border during the Second European Games, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Customs Committee of Belarus.

The customs agencies of Belarus and Lithuania signed a memorandum on interaction during the Second European Games.

The document was signed during the meeting between Yuri Senko, Chairman of the Belarusian State Customs Committee, and Arunas Adomenas, Director General of the Customs Department at the Finance Ministry of Lithuania, in Vilnius on 14 March. The main topic was the measures to ease customs operations at border crossing points at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border during the Second European Games in Belarus on 21-30 June 2019.

In addition, the parties reviewed a number of issues relating to the situation on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, the cross border emergency notifications system and the infrastructure at the border crossing points.

“In general, the goal of the meeting was to improve practical cooperation between the customs services of the neighboring countries and to discuss the steps necessary for the smooth functioning of the border crossing points in the run-up to and during the international sporting event in Belarus,” the press service noted.
