Call to highlight Belarusian art heritage

Call to highlight Belarusian art heritage

MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – We need to improve the status of the cities and villages where famous Belarusian artists were born, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko noted as he met with talented young Belarusians at the State Youth Theater on 20 March, BelTA has learned.

“We need to highlight our national heritage and recall those great names. The most important thing is to remember our heritage in deed and not in name,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The head of state stressed the need to raise the status of the cities and villages where big-name Belarusians were born, attract foreign art lovers to these places, show them the sources of great works, and give a holiday to the people.

“I expect the ministries of culture, information, education, and the mass media to come up with specific action plans to put this matter to rest. I hope we will not have to explain anymore how important it is for ourselves to love our nation and our country,” the president summarized.
