MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Murmansk Oblast have reserves to step up cooperation, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats said as he met with Murmansk Oblast Deputy Governor Olga Kuznetsova, BelTA has learned.

“We are glad that your delegation has come to Belarus to take part in the Belagro 2022 exhibition. Your visit is important for expanding our trade and economic relations. We have reserves and we should make the most of them,” Leonid Zayats said. He called for increasing the efficiency  of collaboration.

Among the promising avenues of cooperation are mechanical engineering, light industry and agriculture, supplies of equipment and foodstuffs. “We need to make sure that our cooperation brings dividends. We have ample opportunities, we can be useful to each other in various areas,” the deputy prime minister stressed.

Olga Kuznetsova noted that representatives of Murmansk Oblast worked productively at the Belagro exhibition, visited several Belarusian enterprises. She also expressed readiness to use all available reserves to intensify cooperation. In particular, Murmansk Oblast has cooperation proposals for BelAZ and MAZ.

The international exhibition Belagro 2022 is running in the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone from 7 to 11 June. The agricultural forum traditionally brings together not only Belarusian farmers and workers of the food and processing industry but also their foreign counterparts and partners. This year more than 400 companies from various countries, including Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and others are taking part in the exhibition. The expo features a large number of participants from Russia - more than 30 regions are represented.

Collective expositions are offered by the Agriculture and Food Ministry, Industry Ministry, National Academy of Sciences, Belgospishcheprom and Belcoopsoyuz.

Belagro has become a platform for business negotiations. The exhibition program includes B2B meetings, conferences, demonstrations and contests.
