MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Turkey proposes to increase the flight frequency between Istanbul and Minsk from 5 to 7 flights per week, Turkey’s Ambassador to Belarus Kezban Nilvana Darama told the media on 24 October, BelTA has learned.
“The time has come to increase the frequency of flights between Istanbul and Minsk from 5 flights per week to 7. We also wish to see Turkish Airlines and Belavia strengthen cooperation,” the ambassador said.
The third airport in Istanbul will open in 29 October. It could become the largest in the world. The new air harbor will be capable of accommodating 200 million passengers a year. According to the ambassador, thanks to the new airport, the travel for citizens of Turkey and Belarus will become more comfortable.
The Belarus-Turkey intergovernmental visa waiver agreement came into effect on 1 June 2014. According to the document, Belarusian citizens can stay in Turkey for 30 days visa-free, including the date of entry. Within one year, it is possible to enter Turkey without a visa multiple times. The total duration of such stay, however, should not exceed 90 days. The visa-free rules do not apply to travel for the purpose of work (except for transportation of passengers and goods), studies, scientific activity, family reunification and residence. Citizens of Turkey and Belarus can travel visa-free if they visit each other on business trips.
