Trade between Belarus, Russia's Vladimir Oblast up by 19.6% in January-October 2025

MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) - The cooperation between Belarus and Russia’s Vladimir Oblast and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was discussed at a meeting of the Belarusian parts of the working groups on cooperation with these Russian regions. It was chaired by Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.

The meeting was attended by representatives of government bodies, regional and district administrations and also enterprises actively cooperating with these Russian regions. The central item on the agenda was the foreign economic cooperation between Belarusian enterprises and these Russian regions in 2025, the plans for 2026, and specific steps to increase Belarusian supplies to Yakutia and Vladimir Oblast and to expand the export of tourism and construction services.

Belarus supplies various types of machinery and equipment (dump trucks, lifts, cargo vehicles, special-purpose equipment for utility services and agriculture), transportation vehicles, timber and also food and agricultural produce to Vladimir Oblast and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Vladimir Oblast is one of Belarus' key partners in Russia, ranking 19th among Russian regions in terms of trade volume. In January-October 2025, the trade  between Belarus and Vladimir Oblast reached $449.1 million (up by 19.6% year-on-year). A new  school for 1,200 students in Suzdal, Vladimir Oblast, built with the participation of Belarusian construction teams, will mark a landmark event for bilateral cooperation. The school is set to commence operations on 1 January 2026.

Belarus has maintained a trade surplus with the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Thanks to the bilateral agreements, the representative office of Yakutia Railways was opened in Minsk in May of this year, which helped reduce cargo delivery times to Yakutia to 11 days.

Belarusian food products are in high demand in these regions. They are primarily supplied through dealer and distribution networks. The parties discussed the possibility of organizing direct deliveries of goods from Belarus, bypassing intermediary structures.

The meeting participants reviewed the progress in implementing the plans and protocol instructions and discussed the issues in cooperation and proposals for expanding it.

In 2026, joint meetings of the working groups on cooperation between Belarus and Vladimir Oblast and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) will be held in the respective Russian regions.
