MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) and the Russian Export Center (REC) plan to step up efforts to involve Russian small and medium-sized businesses in exchange trade with Belarusian enterprises. The topic was discussed during the webinar “Cooperation without borders: New opportunities for Russian export to Belarus” organized by the REC and attended by heads of companies and self-employed businessmen from 30 Russian regions, the BUCE press service told BelTA.

In particular, BUCE will offer a turnkey comprehensive service to businesses willing to enter the Belarusian exchange market. The service involves full support for Russian companies from exchange accreditation and training how to operate the trading system to concluding the first transaction and monitoring its execution. In turn, the REC will provide information and advisory support to Russian entrepreneurs, who are interested in using the exchange as a sales channel.

“The main goal of this initiative is to build more efficient supply chains for Russian goods to Belarus by eliminating redundant intermediary links. Optimal conditions have been created for this at the exchange because a specific Belarusian enterprise stands behind every buy order placed on our electronic platform. In most cases this is the end consumer. As a result, the time required to find business partners is reduced, marketing costs decrease, and risks for both parties to the transaction are minimized,” stated German Puzyrny, Deputy Head of the Foreign Economic Activity Department at BUCE, while presenting the platform’s capabilities at the webinar.

According to BUCE, in January-August 2026, residents of the Russian Federation sold $120.5 million worth of products via exchange auctions, which is 20% more than in the same period of 2025. The top sellers on the Belarusian exchange market were coal, ferrous metals, ferroalloys, spare parts and components for industrial equipment, grain, and polymer products.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was established in 2004. The first trading session was conducted in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest mercantile exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its key function is to assist Belarusian companies with exporting their products and assist foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. The commodity exchange facilitates trade in metals, timber, agricultural products, and a broad choice of industrial and consumer goods.
