State property committees of Belarus, China to share experience

MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) – A plan to implement a framework agreement on cooperation and the mechanisms of interaction between the State Property Committee of Belarus and the State Committee for Assets Supervision and Administration of China was discussed at the first session of working group in Minsk on 27 December, BelTA has learned.

Partaking in the session were Chairman of the State Property Committee of Belarus Andrei Gayev and the head of the foreign affairs department at the State Committee for Assets Supervision and Administration of China. According to Andrei Gayev, the provisions of the framework agreement are aimed at enhancing the interaction and cooperation between the enterprises of the two countries. In his opinion, the sides will be also able to promptly and efficiently exchange experience in the administration of state assets, reformation of the public sector. “By joint efforts we will contribute to the enhancement of trade and economic cooperation between enterprises and the improvement of investment management,” the head of the State Property Committee said.

The participants of the session discussed the plan of implementation of the agreement. This document will specify the obligations of the working group, the secretariat and describe the mechanism of cooperation and interaction. It will also provide information about the representatives of the two sides in the working groups.

The second session of the working group is expected to take place in China in 2017.

The first session of the working group is organized in accordance with the framework agreement on cooperation and the mechanisms of interaction between the State Property Committee of Belarus and the State Committee for Assets Supervision and Administration of China. This document was signed in the presence of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and China President Xi Jinping in Beijing in September 2016.

This is the first joint interagency Belarusian-Chinese document regarding the development and enhancement of investment cooperation between the two countries. This cooperation envisages close interaction between the agencies, active participation of specialized ministries and other organizations subordinate to the Belarusian government. On China’s behalf, the working group includes the representatives of the State Committee for Assets Supervision and Administration and the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.
