Snopkov now in charge of Supervisory Board of Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov is now the head of the Supervisory Board of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), BelTA learned from the Belarusian government’s press service.

The Council of Ministers’ resolution No.377 of 27 July 2026 updated the list of state representatives in the management bodies of individual domestic enterprises, expanding the composition of the Supervisory Board of OAO Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange as a result.

The first session of the updated Supervisory Board took place at BUCE premises. A unanimous decision was made to elect the first deputy prime minister chairman of the BUCE Supervisory Board.

Participants of the session decided in favor of establishing a committee for strategic development of exchange trade under the Supervisory Board of the exchange. The main functions of this consultative and advisory body include submitting proposals to determine priority directions for the development of the exchange commodity market, participating in coordinating concepts for new areas of exchange activities, preparing draft plans for BUCE’s strategic development, and analyzing the financial and economic indicators of the exchange to develop recommendations for improving them. Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Mikhail Myatlikov was elected chairman of the new structure.

During the session BUCE’s role as an important part of the economic system was noted. The first deputy prime minister drew attention to the need to improve BUCE’s analytical tools in order to develop effective proposals for selling domestic products.

Nikolai Snopkov tasked BUCE with analyzing the work on foreign and domestic commodity exchange markets in greater detail with regard to goods of economic interest to the republic and with improving the schemes for selling these goods. The first deputy prime minister also set the task of interacting with the State Property Committee to ensure the most effective sale of unused state property. Other instructions to improve BUCE’s work were also issued.
