Serbian Valjevo, Belarus’ Molodechno to promote direct contacts between economic entities

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) - Serbian city of Valjevo and Belarus’ Molodechno will actively promote direct contacts between economic entities, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Serbia Valery Brylev said as he visited the town of Valjevo, which is the sister city of Molodechno, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Belgrade.

The meeting was also attended by Counselor of the Embassy Mikhail Kazhuro and Chairman of the Society of Friendship Belarus-Serbia, Professor of the Belarusian State University, Academician of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts Ivan Charota. During the negotiations with Valjevo Vice Mayor Zoran Zivkovic, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for promoting relations with the emphasis on interregional cooperation. In addition, they reviewed the status of implementation of the agreement on twinning between the two cities, discussed the ways of bolstering bilateral trade and economic ties and direct contacts between economic entities, and also cooperation in healthcare, tourism, and culture.

During a meeting with Bishop Milutin of Valjevo, the parties stressed the need to preserve and strengthen the spiritual and moral foundations of friendship between the two countries. Professor Ivan Charota gave the Bishop the Icon of St. Nicholas.

The Belarusian ambassador also met with the staff of the International Art Studio Radovan Trnavac Mica to discuss ways of developing cooperation in culture and exhibition affairs.
