MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – Rostov Oblast is interested in resuming the assembling of MTZ tractors in the city of Bataisk, BelTA learned from Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev after he visited the Belarusian tractor engineering company MTZ on 11 May.
Vasily Golubev said: “Our farmers need Belarusian tractors. These tractors occupy a serious [market] niche. We already work together. Reanimating the assembly enterprise in Bataisk is the idea.”
The MTZ trading house in Rostov Oblast owns a manufacturing site, which has been prepared for assembling powerful tractors with the engine output of 300-350hp. The Russian side is considering subsidizing the manufacturing project using budgets of various levels.
After the negotiations MTZ Director General Fyodor Domotenko noted: “We have discussed matters concerning not only vehicle shipments to Rostov Oblast but also manufacturing localization.”
Vasily Golubev invited the MTZ director general to visit Rostov Oblast and take part in the tractor race Bison Track Show 2017.
