Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Territory eager to buy more Belarusian lifts, foodMOSCOW, 14 December (BelTA) – Krasnoyarsk Territory intends to buy more Belarusian lifts and food, BelTA learned from the press service of the embassy of Belarus in Russia after Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko met with Krasnoyarsk Territory Acting Governor Alexander Uss in Moscow on 14 December.

The meeting touched upon promising avenues of bilateral interaction in manufacturing cooperation, agribusiness, cooperation with regard to passenger vehicles, road construction and utility vehicles. The sides discussed the possibility of increasing the deliveries of Belarusian lifts as part of housing construction projects, the possibility of selling more food and agricultural products. The possibility of getting Belarusian specialists involved in the design and construction of facilities in Krasnoyarsk Territory using Belarusian construction materials was also discussed.

The ambassador talked to mass media after the meeting. in particular, Igor Petrishenko stated that Belarus and Krasnoyarsk Territory actively work together to implement the action plan on advancing cooperation in 2018-2019, which was signed during the fourth forum of regions of Belarus and Russia in Moscow in summer. The document covers all spheres of cooperation: manufacturing cooperation, agriculture, and infrastructure projects.

Igor Petrishenko said: “We are also intensively working on renewing the rolling fleet of the public transportation system in Krasnoyarsk taking into account the forthcoming 2019 World Winter Universiade.”

Alexander Uss told media about his Belarusian roots: his father was born in Mogilev Oblast, his mother’s parents also came from Belarus. He noted that there is a large Belarusian diaspora in Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The acting governor stated that trade with Belarus and economic relations between Belarus and Krasnoyarsk Territory are on the rise. “There is a good potential for developing the existing avenues of cooperation,” stressed the acting governor. “The spectrum of our cooperation can be seriously expanded in other spheres, too.”

In January-October 2017 Belarus’ trade with Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Territory totaled $57.8 million, 10.1% up from January-October 2016. Belarus’ export totaled $42.9 million (5.7% up), with import at $14.9 million (25.2% up). Belarus mainly exports trucks, control panels, tables for electric equipment, tires, malt, milk whey, parts and accessories for automobiles and tractors.
