MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – Bashkortostan is interested in buying more Belarusian machines and vehicles. The matter was discussed during the session of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Bashkortostan on 11 April, BelTA has learned.

In 2017 Belarus-Bashkortostan trade totaled $520.3 million, 39.7% up from 2016. Igor Lyashenko, Belarusian co-chairman of the Belarus-Bashkortostan working group, Chairman of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim, told media that Belarus bought oil and oil products, other chemical products from Bashkortostan in 2017. The fact allowed Belneftekhim to steadily work through the last year.

“The matters we are going to discuss today include the assembly of more powerful tractors and using sites in Bashkortostan for Amkodor vehicles. As for petrochemical industry, for now we receive raw materials from Bashkortostan. We are only considering joint projects,” added Igor Lyashenko. Plans have been made to discuss possible petrochemical products in Ufa, Russia in May on the sidelines of the Oil. Gas. Technologies expo.

Yevgeny Guryev, Russian co-chairman of the Belarus-Bashkortostan working group, Deputy Prime Minister, Land and Property Relations Minister of Bashkortostan, added that during the current visit they had already reached agreements on cooperation in agriculture, in deliveries of Amkodor vehicles, and in using breakthrough Belarusian technologies in road construction.

Belarus and Bashkortostan are busy working out a new action plan on trade and cultural cooperation in 2019-2021. The document is supposed to be signed during the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Mogilev in September.

The Bashkortostan delegation is in Belarus on a visit on 9-12 April. While in the country the delegation will visit the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor, the road infrastructure design institute Belgiprodor, the National Forest Breeding and Seed Production Center, the vehicle repairs, maintenance, and spare parts supplying company Belagroservice, and the agricultural machinery producer Zapagromash. Negotiations have already been held with representatives of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Transport and Communications Ministry, and the Belneftekhim concern.
