Russia’s Bashkortostan considering assembling Belarusian MTZ tractors

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – The Republic of Bashkortostan (part of the Russian Federation) is considering the possibility of assembling Belarusian tractors, BelTA learned from Pavel Tukhto, a public relations specialist of the Belarusian tractor engineering company MTZ.

A delegation led by Bashkortostan Industry Minister Alexei Karpukhin visited MTZ. The official said: “Our task is to advance Belarus-Russia cooperation. We understand requirements of the market. A joint program on assembly will be a good step forward. Today our goal is to find a decent partner with a good reputation in order to advance mutually beneficial cooperation.”

Bashkortostan’s largest agricultural machines vendor BashSelKhozTekhnika may become a partner in the project.

The industry minister of Bashkortostan also mentioned that the Russian region is interested in buying forestry machines made by the holding company MTZ.

During the negotiations MTZ Director General Fyodor Domotenko noted: “We are ready to work in every avenue of cooperation from selling the ready-made machines to setting up an assembly enterprise. We can beat all the competitors on the Russian market with our prices. Not a single European or Asian manufacturer has yet been able to offer terms better than those we offer.”

The sides also discussed matters concerning manufacturing cooperation. “We have over 150 suppliers from Russia, including from Bashkortostan. We are ready to take cooperation to the next level if you offer attractive prices,” said Fyodor Domotenko.
