The statement was made by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev after the session of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on 29 September, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Medvedev remarked that Belarus and Russia should promote manufacturing cooperation in agriculture and the joint processing of agricultural products.

The Russian Prime Minister said: “As far as the replacement of the products, which are subject to the Russian food embargo, is concerned, certainly we bear in mind the products that our partners can offer. We expect and hope they will be able to provide substitute foods.”

The official noted that Russia takes into account the economy branches, which are well-developed in the partnering countries. As far as Belarus is concerned, those are industries that make milk and meat as well as derivative products. “It is these products that fill the gaps that exist on our market to some extent,” said the Russian Prime Minister.
