MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia intend to accelerate the assimilation of results of Union State programs on selling lactoferrin on markets of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Economic Policy Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Sergei Mitin.

Sergei Mitin said: “During a routine conference we would like to once again clarify with Belarusian colleagues what needs to change in Russia’s legislation in order to advance the programs.”

Scientists have managed to breed goats with human genes as part of the Union State programs BelRosTransgen and BelRosTransgen 2. Their milk can be used to create a substitute for women’s milk, the MP explained.

He also talked about plans to offer results of the programs to consumers. “Two programs have already been completed. World-class inventions have been produced. Now it is necessary to replicate medications, biological additives, and cosmetics based on lactoferrin,” Sergei Mitin said.

A routine conference is expected to take place in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on 23 March to discuss the realization of Union State programs. Participants of the conference will review progress in commercializing results of the Union State programs BelRosTransgen and BelRosTransgen 2 on lactoferrin applications and results of reconciliation of draft concepts of the Union State programs Union-Biomembranes, Component-F, and Accelerator-SCR.

Members of the delegation of the Economic Policy Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia were made familiar with the latest R&D accomplishments on display in the permanently open exhibition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
