ZHODINO, 28 September (BelTA) – The possibility of producing BelAZ haul trucks in the Russian Federation is under consideration. State Secretary, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister of Russia Viktor Yevtukhov made the statement during the panel discussion "Joint projects as a factor of stable economic development of Belarus and Russia”, which was held as part of the 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.

The official said that the Belarusian side had suggested considering the production of BelAZ trucks in Russia. “We are actively working on it. I think such a project can be implemented in the territory of the Russian Federation,” Viktor Yevtukhov said.

A project to make road construction machines in Bryansk is under consideration upon the initiative of the Belarusian side. The sides are now identifying the product choice the joint venture will make.

Viktor Yevtukhov mentioned the establishment of an enterprise to make technical carbon in the free economic zone (FEZ) Mogilev as a fresh example of manufacturing cooperation. The investment project is being implemented by Omsk Carbon Group. The Russian investments are close to €150 million. “The launch of the project has been shifted a bit due to the pandemic, but according to our estimates, the enterprise will be commissioned in October-November 2020,” the official noted.
