Prime minister notices positive trends in Belarusian economy

VOLKOVYSK, 14 April (BelTA) – Positive trends can be registered in the Belarusian economy. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov made the statement during the working trip to Grodno Oblast on 14 April, BelTA has learned.

Andrei Kobyakov said: “A number of indicators in Q1 2017 demonstrated that positive changes are happening in the economy. These indicators stem from specific ‘brooklets’, including the enterprises we are visiting today.” The prime minister stressed that during the working trip he primarily paid attention to the financial state of enterprises.

“Today’s trip inspires certain optimism. Yes, there are problems we are going to work on, but on the whole I believe that the economy is switching to positive trends, which will become more pronounced in the near future,” stated the prime minister.

The financial state of processing enterprises raises no doubts. Bellakt and Volkovysk Meat-Processing Plant have been and remain flagships of the processing industry. Their modernization continues. It once again confirms that it is always possible to make effective decisions that allow enterprises to work and grow, provided the managers are acceptable, stressed Andrei Kobyakov.

Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov was made familiar with progress of the spring sowing campaign in Grodno Oblast. Fruit farming in the region was discussed when the prime minister visited the fruit orchard of the agricultural enterprise Neverovichi. Andrei Kobyakov also visited the construction materials manufacturer Krasnoselskstroymaterialy. Apart from that, Andrei Kobyakov was informed about measures taken by Bellakt to increase merchandise export and diversify target markets. Results of the company’s retooling campaign were discussed as the prime minister visited Volkovysk Meat-Processing Plant.
