Plans to create Belarusian robotic milking system

MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – There are plans to create a Belarusian robotic milking system. The news was released by Sergei Yakovchik, Director General of the Applied Research Center for Agriculture Mechanization of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), during an international science and practice conference on innovative agribusiness products on 12 July, BelTA has learned.

According to Sergei Yakovchik, a robotic milking system will have a good export potential since a number of Russian regions are fully switching to robotic milking parlors. Besides, Vitebsk Oblast has decided in favor of setting up seven robotic farms. This is why such an innovative product would be in demand on the home market, too. The NASB Applied Research Center for Agriculture Mechanization intends to design a carousel-type milking parlor in the future.

Sergei Yakovchik remarked that the latest agricultural machines and equipment of the Applied Research Center for Agriculture Mechanization are intended for smart agriculture, which is based on automated and robotized processes. In particular, the center is busy designing a universal workstation for pig farm specialists. The workstation is supposed to allow one employee to fully control the feeding process of the entire farm. The Applied Research Center for Agriculture Mechanization has already made a set of equipment for automatically feeding pigs with liquid fodder mixtures. The solution minimizes human access to the pigs and relies on affordable Belarusian software, which is also easy to maintain. The equipment has been successfully deployed at three enterprises in Vitebsk Oblast.
