Plans to build R&D commercialization center in China-Belarus industrial park within one year

Plans to build R&D commercialization center in China-Belarus industrial park within one year

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – A Chinese-Belarusian center for cooperation in transforming R&D accomplishments will be built in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone within one year. The statement was made by the head of the park’s administration Alexander Yaroshenko during the ceremony held on 18 December to mark the launch of the construction project, BelTA has learned.

According to the source, the construction and development of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone proceeds dynamically. The construction of the center for cooperation in transforming R&D accomplishments will be the next step in implementing the joint project. “I am convinced that in exactly one year we will get together here to celebrate the center’s opening,” said Alexander Yaroshenko. “The industrial park development company and China No. 15 Metallurgical Construction Group Company (15MCC) will do quality construction work on time.”

About ¥160 million in Chinese technical and economic aid will be spent to build the R&D commercialization center. The center will demonstrate product samples and offer information about manufactured products for the sake of consequently registering ownership and signing contracts. The center will also engage in experimentation, testing, and small-series manufacturing.

The building will resemble the math symbol “infinity” to emphasize the potential infinity of cooperation in transforming Belarusian and Chinese R&D accomplishments. It will be a five-story building with the total area of about 19,000m2. Among other things it will include a demonstration hall, a multifunctional hall, trade venues, centers for cooperation in commercialization, a business incubator, a testing area, an area for small-series manufacturing and prototyping.

Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Dmitry Matusevich noted that knowledge and high technologies determine the effectiveness of an economy these days and allow radically enhancing the quality of life, modernizing infrastructure, and ensuring security. The center will be one of the instruments to help raise Belarus’ GDP up to $100 billion per annum by 2025.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming took part in the ceremony.
